Membership Sites

Last week, we started a series on passive streams of income. The first passive income business model we discussed was Affiliate Marketing. Go here to read it. This week we will continue our series by looking at membership sites.

Setting Up a Membership Site

business modelSetting up a membership site is another great passive income business model. Although you can set up a membership site in the beginning stages of your start-up, it is not a good idea. Wait until you have been in business long enough to be recognized and accepted as an expert in your field. In addition, your membership site idea has to be timely, as well as has a demand for it.

How Long to Operate a Membership Site?

You can set up your membership site to run for a specified period of time or advance through levels of expertise; i.e., Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced. Your membership fee will increase at each level, as well as your degree of personal attention and accessibility for your members.

Membership Site Formats

There are various formats for setting up your site; for example:

  • Coaching
  • Courses
  • Audio/Video Content
  • Resource Sharing

We will discuss more formats in our next webinar, as well as dig a little deeper into membership sites overall. Your membership site should be an easy format both easily accessible by you and your members.

Membership Site Systems

WishList Member and aMember are two programs worth looking into. WishList Member basically turns your blog into a membership site. It is easy to use and has a lot of features, which allows you to shape your site into what’s best for your membership type.

aMember is great for “forum-style” membership sites. It has a lot of great features and an affiliate program. You can operate your own affiliate program through aMember.
