Your Personal Profile on LinkedIn – Part II
|One of the beneficial components of LinkedIn is the ability to add your additional contact information.  You can also add a link to your professional website, blog, and your Twitter account. This will enable potential clients and employers to examine your skills in managing social networking and social media marketing, as well as give them multiple avenues to reach out to you.  You are also able to add more personality to your profile and invite others who share a common interest to further connect with you. Potential clients and employers will be able to view more details on how well you manage your social networking skills, as well give them even more insight in how you may be an asset to them.
Getting Good Recommendations
One of the best ways to get a good recommendation to share on your LinkedIn profile is to simply ask. If you’ve had an employer or a co-worker that you have impressed with past work, do not hesitate to contact them for a good recommendation. Limit the people you request recommendations from to only previous contacts. Once you have grown in your network and had more opportunities to participate in group discussions and have your name out there, it may open more doors for recommendations. When asking for a recommendation, make sure to inform the person you are requesting one from that you do not wish it directed to any specific person or business. This allows it to be used freely for LinkedIn.
